Mom Makes A Tiny Door, Then Uses It To Keep Intruders Out

When you hear the term "home security," the first thing that probably comes to mind is a burglar alarm. After all, the blaring noise of a home alarm system is enough to wake up your neighbors, who will undoubtedly peek out their window to see what's going on. Most criminals don't want their faces to be seen, and will quickly scamper away into the night.
However, there's probably one area of your home that you haven't given a second thought to securing. In fact, most people might think that you're nuts for creating this safeguard. It may seem silly on the surface, but feeling safe in your own house is never a silly endeavor.
All you need is a few Popsicle sticks, glue, a metal clothes hanger, and a few other inexpensive items. Steph and Vicki from Mother Daughter Projects are homeowners that love working on projects together, then sharing those projects with the world.
First, you'll need to gather the following supplies:
- Popsicle sticks
- Duct tape sheets
- Wood glue
- Wooden flat-head plug
- Wood stain
- Moldable Sugru glue
- Lego half-pins
- Lego tile 1x4
- Lego spoked wheel
- Metal clothes hanger
Although the use of Legos is a bit strange, it totally works for this project! If you have kids or grandkids, then you probably already have access to a stash of Legos.
This project will not only keep your family safe but it's also a fun thing to do with the kids. Learn how to put this genius solution together by watching the video below. Friends and family won't be able to resist such an adorable tiny door.
What a fantastic idea! Even if it didn't serve an important function, I think I would still want to make one. Do you think you'll create this for your door, too?
