Excess snow on your roof can be extremely dangerous! According to the national Disaster Safety website, it only takes about 6 to 12 inches of snow and ice accumulation to cause a real problem, like a potential roof collapse!
Not only is your roof collapsing an incredibly expensive problem, but it can cause serious injury! Luckily for us, one genius homeowner has a fast, cheap and effective solution to roof snow build-up.
The man featured in the Just Awesome YouTube video starts off by climbing onto his roof and wrapping a long piece of rope around a 10 or 12-foot section of snow.
Then, he drapes the excess rope around the edges of the snow build-up and hops back down into the ground.
After that, the man takes both ends of the rope and pulls it through the bottom of the snow pile! It take a little elbow grease, but soon the rope pulls all the way through and causes a small avalanche of snow falling!
He repeats this process over and over again, until the entire roof is clear of dangerously heavy snow!
